About EdgeTier


EdgeTier was founded with a clear vision to build cutting-edge artificial intelligence applications that move contact centres into a new era of efficiency and performance. We don’t believe that a single customer care organisation in the future will be able to compete without using assisted or automated decision making, powered by AI and machine learning. 

EdgeTier began as a boutique machine learning consultancy company wholly focussed on the customer care industry. We analysed tens of millions of real-life customer queries while working with customer care teams across a diverse range of industries such as travel, insurance, banking, utilities, financial services and energy. We saw first-hand the common issues that these teams face; customer service agents spending their time battling against software rather than helping customers, managers making decisions based on limited or no data, and directors being oversold on the capabilities of bots that ended up frustrating their customers. 

The EdgeTier team realised that the true power of AI / machine learning in customer care is not in pushing customers away, but in building software that works for customer care organisations, allowing them to deliver higher-quality and more personalised care that their customers will love, while also reducing the cost to serve those customers.

Shane Lynn


Shane Lynn Ph.D. has over 10 years of experience in data analysis, machine learning, and data visualization. Holding a Ph.D. in machine learning and control engineering from Maynooth University, Shane has applied analysis techniques to a variety of domains including finance, postal, energy, telecommunications, semiconductor manufacturing, and autonomous vehicles.

Shane is CEO of EdgeTier, responsible for selling and building pricing, simulation, and customer analytics products for EdgeTier client companies.

Bart Lehane


Bart Lehane Ph.D. has over 10 years of experience in the areas of applied research, software, and product development. Bart graduated from DCU with a degree in Electronic Engineering, followed by a Ph.D. in the area of video and audio analysis focused on machine learning and statistical analysis. Since completing his Ph.D. in 2006 he has held senior software development, research, and product management roles across a range of industries.

At EdgeTier, Bart is responsible for building and commercialising simulation and analytics products and services for EdgeTier clients.

Ciarán Tobin


Ciarán Tobin is an expert in data analysis, machine learning, data visualisation, and software development. Ciarán holds a degree in Management Science and Information Systems Studies from Trinity College, and a M.Sc. in Business Analytics from the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.

At Edgetier, Ciarán is responsible for developing new products and performing analysis on consumer data for EdgeTier clients.

Miguel Grinberg

Senior Developer

Miguel Grinberg has over 25 years of experience as a software engineer. He holds a MSc. degree in Computer Science from University of Buenos Aires, and has worked in a variety of areas including video broadcasting, computer animation, web security and cloud infrastructure. 

Miguel is the author of two best-selling books on web development with the Python programming language and has an active participation in the open source community.

Guillem Abello


Guillem Abelló has over 5 years of experience in the field of software engineering and system architecture. He has worked on fields as diverse as applied research, audio fingerprinting or IOT.

Guillem holds a Degree in Multimedia Engineering from Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona.
