About EdgeTier


EdgeTier was founded with a vision to build cutting-edge artificial intelligence applications that move contact centres into a new era of efficiency and performance. We don’t believe that a single customer care organisation in the future will be able to compete without using assisted or automated decision making, powered by AI and machine learning. 

EdgeTier began as a boutique machine learning consultancy company wholly focussed on the customer care industry. We analysed tens of millions of real-life customer queries while working with customer care teams across a diverse range of industries such as travel, insurance, banking, utilities, financial services and energy.

The EdgeTier team realised that the true power of AI / machine learning in customer care is not in pushing customers away, but in building software that works for customer care organisations, allowing them to deliver higher-quality and more personalised care that their customers will love, while also reducing the cost to serve those customers.

Shane Lynn


Shane is CEO and co-founder of EdgeTier. An engineer by training, Shane is a data and visualisation geek, really enjoying a good data science project. Shane holds a PhD in machine learning and control engineering from Maynooth University Ireland and has applied analysis techniques to a huge variety of domains including rocket propulsion, semiconductor manufacturing, autonomous vehicles, telecommunications, and of course, customer service.

Outside of work, Shane blogs about Python on his own website, is a full-time-tickling dad, a keen cyclist, and an avid water-sports enthusiast.

Bart Lehane


Bart Lehane Ph.D. has over 10 years of experience in the areas of applied research, software development, and product management. Bart graduated from DCU with a degree in Electronic Engineering, followed by a Ph.D. in the area of video and audio analysis focused on machine learning and statistical analysis. Since completing his Ph.D. he has held senior software development, research, and product management roles across a range of industries.

Outside of EdgeTier, Bart enjoys all things technology and sport related, and spends his spare time coaching his kid’s football team.

Ciarán Tobin


 Ciarán is CTO and co-founder of EdgeTier. He completed his undergraduate in Trinity College and holds an M.Sc. in Business Analytics from the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. After having worked on a range of predictive analytics and data visualisation projects, Ciarán left Deloitte’s Analytics team in 2015 to found EdgeTier. Within EdgeTier, Ciarán is a software architect and full stack developer working mostly with TypeScript, Python, and SQL. 
Ciarán’s hobbies include playing guitar, skiing, tag rugby, going to the gym, and squash.
